i just noticed that the paint on my sterling bubbled and then cracked a little right next to the pickguard. im pretty bummed. i mean, my bass is less than 6 months old. is this normal?

im not sure what to do about it because right now i only have my sterling, and i can't send it in to be repaired because my band has shows every week till september

Clashfan...We cant fix it if we don't have it. Can you post a pic of the problem area?

BTW I am a HUGE Clash fan mice elf!

sorry i took so long to reply. i took pics but i can't find my damn cable to hook the camera up to my computer. how long would it take to fix. the spot is only about a 1/2 inch long and a 1/4 inch wide and it goes all the way to the wood.

We would replace the body, and it would take at least 4 weeks for a new body, but if you call customer service for a return authorization number, I can pre order the body, and give you a call when I have it, then you can send your bass in. That would mean that the most time involved would be shipping time. I can ship it back to you the same day I get it here.

Bit of a random question directed to you Jon, not sure if it's been asked before. As you replace the body when a bass comes in for body repairs, is it possible for the owner to request a different colour? Im not actually planning on doing this if its possible, im just curious :D

the reason why we won't give a different color is that in the past we have had some funny business pulled just to get a new color

Thanks BP, I can imagine some people trying it. Thats why I was curious, because it does seem an easy way to get a "new" bass.

thats great news. could arrangements be made for me to drive my bass over to you to be reassembled. i've taken apart basses and put them back together before, but i always get a weird feeling about it afterwords, like "did i do that right?" :)

I would think they would take the whole bass in, swap the body out, reassemble it, and set it up for you, rather than just take in the bad body and give you a new one back.

Send us the whole bass, and we will take care of the swap.
