I got a Morse PDN Neptune Blue from Pete DuBaldo a couple months ago so I'd have roasted maple neck - and with the express intention of changing the pickguard over to the "blue candy crush" pickguard cover to make this as close a match to Steve's backup guitar as I could get (without the custom color) as shown here:

I immediately fell in love with the lighter body - so when brother Siddius came up with the offer of trading his PDN Neptune Blue body for a quilt-top Purple Sunset Y2D (that I just happened have one of!) I jumped on the chance to have a "hot spare" for my current favorite guitar.

Here's pics of the pair, before I did the pickguard swap on my first one (which I had ordered with black pickguard, since I was going to swap it out anyways):

Well, last night I got the pickguard swap done on my first/original PDN and I like it a lot!

I don't gig out a lot, but have a couple planned in the next few months and you can BET this is the guitar I'll be sporting! :)

I don't really keep track of that stuff - and I lean more towards the "Standard" and he leans more towards the "Y2D" anyways...

I mean, it's not really a competition...

That is...

As long as I have more Morse's than he does, it's not! :D

Love that scratch plate and the custom blue Morse. I'd swear I posted a thread about it but can't find it now...

ENJOY!!

Kevin, that pickguard kills. Want one too. Where did you get?

The company is Chandler Music - they run the website Pickguard Heaven: Pickguards for Every Guitar

That particular color is called "blue candy crush" - and I'm pretty sure the idea came from seeing Dave LaRue use it on some of his basses for a couple years before Steve showed up with the same thing.

Actually, on bass guitarists, I collect signed pick guards - of the same style/color/etc of their main axe - I have a blue candy crush for an HH Bongo signed by Dave! :)

Nicely done Kevin!

Hmm...interesting idea...a pick guard would be a cool way to add some color to my white Reflex.... :)

Hey there - I'm originally a southern boy too - Roll Tide! :)

Not a more tonally versatile guitar in existence, IMHO - hope you get to check one out.
