Congrats! Right on with the review. I love my JP7 Buttercream LE. I'd like to post pictures, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do it (eMac). I have a picture of me with John Petrucci in Detroit (from the clinic) and he signed the back plate for me. The picure is like 600kb, but I don't know what to do? Please help! And thanks in advance.

Off topic for a moment:

Hey JPB,

I was at that clinic too. JP signed the backplates of my EBMM JP and my OLP JP also... I just brought the plates though... hauling 2 guitars would have been a pain. I put 3 layers of clear coat over the signatures so there's no smudging or wear.

Back on topic:

The only problem (if you can call it that) with a EBMM JP is the incessant need to add more to the collection. Resistance is futile! I can't envision playing anything else (except perhaps a Steve Morse)...EBMM rules!

It's scary when a lawyer asks questions. Where could he be going with this? :)

I was going to see if I could get the backplate from my Petrucci signed and wanted to clear coat it, and wondered what is the best pen for this, a paint pen?

I think silver sharpie (tm) is the choice

I had John sign the back plate with a Metallic Silver Sharpie. He loved the color of the guitar and said, "I wish I had one." I wasn't sure if he had seen one yet by his expression, but I didn't think to ask. I'll get my pictures up once I figure out how.

How did you clear coat it? What product? I should probably do this too. Thanks.

Interestingly, I used Dupli-color clear coat automotive touch-up paint. Using a small paint brush, I traced over the signatures very lightly with the paint to minimize the amount of clear coat on the plate. Worked really well. :)
