Do you ever feel "bad" for your rig when you plug your Bongo in to it?

I plugged my Bongo in again today.... and I just felt bad for the rig. I wasn't abusing the speakers, or clipping the input... heck I didn't even turn it up that load.... but the tone, signal level, bass response and beefyness just seemed like if the rig had nerve endings they would be in some form of painful sensory overload. But then again, maybe the rig is kinky and likes it a little rough... you never know.... :D

Oh... and I think the Bongo might have to stick around....

(I'd hold on to that 25th RW, 'cause you always can get a Bongo again, but that's your call)

As for the rig. It lives to be punished. No mercy. No remorse.

I don't have a Bongo so I can't speak for them (yet!) But when I played my Sterling through my cab and head, it made my cab sound so much better than the other basses that I have. I have 2 basses that are average basses that are 15 and 16 years old that were each around $500.00 and 1 that is a high end bass that sold brand new for around $1,700.00. I bought it used for $1,000.00 and am kicking myself now for not buying a Music Man instead because my Music Man makes my cab sound so much better. What is amazing is I don't have some super expensive cab. I have a Crate Theunderbass cab. The model is the BXE 215 because it has 2 - 15" speakers and I run it through a Crate 440 head that was part of the Thunderbass series. The head and cab are from the mid 90's but my bass makes it sound like something a lot more expensive.

Maybe you can trade that other bass for something cool, lets say a bongo?

Last tuesday I played my old SR 4 again after a long time. It sounded impressively huge, but the amp ventilated heavily afterwards...

Yep. The Bongo is special. Good decision. Great story!

Now you have to buy another amp? I'm selling my Eden 405 if interested. Getting a Genz Benz 6.0 to try for awhile.

Already ahead of you on that. The 2 basses that are 15 and 16 years old will now be used as back up basses but I doubt I will ever sell them because everything to date that I have ever done in the Christian music industry has been done with them and they have sentimental value for that reason. With the higher end bass, I am trying to sell it and 2 high end guitars of the same manufacturer to buy more Music Man basses. I may actually have 1 of the guitars sold already but yeah, I want to add quite a few more Music Man's to my collection.
