thanks for that info.

maybe ill consider stripping the control cavity as well and putting in some shielding, although ive had similar results: this bass is one of the quieter ive played (as far as 60 cycle hum), even onstage with a cranked amp and some buzzing overhead lights.

i just finished making a new pickguard from a found peice of clear plexiglass or whatever it is.

sorry for another post with no pictures, but ive got a few more questions.

since the bodys full of dings and chunks missing, and im not super partial to the stock black finish, im thinking about refinishing the bass myself with the help of somebody experienced. i was wondering what the bodies on the SUBS are made of specifically, what exactly that textured finish is and how should i handle stripping it as opposed to a clear finish or a normal paintjob?
