I was having some "slight" tuning issues with my New Silo (pictured below) Nothing major but that got me thinking....... Maybe Ill put in a few more springs and get the bridge flush with the body, and screw in the claw some more yank out the bar and go fixed bridge for a while. So I did it and WOW! Big difference! The tuning stability is of course better. The big thing is that its much more resonant and the sustain and overall tone has totally changed! Its like a completely different guitar now, and I love that! I even took it a step further and went up from 10s to 11s. And raised the action from roughly 2.5 MMs to roughly 3.5 MM. Now don't get me wrong. I love it just as much before I set it up as a fixed bridge. I guess Im all excited cause I haven't had a fixed bridge guitar in several years. But Im just really stoked by how well its reacting as a fixed bridge.

Bridge flush to body with all 5 springs locking 'er down = rock solid sound and tuning.

Awesome bro. I like to tweak my guitars and basses and once you find "IT" it is pure heaven.

Ah, that'll never work......you'll have to pack it up and trade it with me for a few of my guitars. No.....you have to. Stop laughing.

Do you find that you have added sustain from blocking your trem? Im using a tremol no and 2 extra springs and the claw screwed in all the way.

The inventor of the Tremol no says that the Tremol no will always have more sustain than a wood block will. Not sure about that but I do like my tremol no.

Im also thinking about installing some of the Graph Tech String Saver Saddles for even better tuning stability and whatnot. I might get those from work tomorrow.

Definitely. I just copied Clapton.Because its an old 6 bolt it uses a Schaller trem. On these the strings anchor at the underside of the trem plate and don't pass through the trem block like a strat dose.I don't know how it compares to a Tremol No though.
