anyone ever have a similar conversation with a friend or family member and have similar thoughts about your EBMM sounding and playing better?

No, because as much as I like playing my Silo Specs and JP6, I equally enjoy rocking out on my Les Pauls and Strats. They all serve different purposes, and are mutually exclusive.

I mean I dont think i'd choose a Silhouette as the prize fighter against other brands.

gotcha...

i love the aixs and it's a heavyweight contender for sure... but or me and my playing style... the silo is perfect and i'd put my 20th up against any other brand out there... my standard silo doesn't pack as much punch but it's a fighter as well and i can get some crazy tones with it... so i'd show up to a gun fight with it as well... LOL!

but i do see how you'd be concerned with the silo in a "prize fight" but for me it's a killer that i'll stand by! :D

The Silo is everything the Strat wanted to be. Specially the Silo Special. The standard Silo is more of a superstrat with it's 24 frets and HSH pickups. One might argue that they don't sound the same, thatt the pickups on the Silo are too tame, but then, how many people leave the stock pickups there on a new Strat?

BTW the Virtual PAFs humbuckers in the Silos are one of the best kept DiMarzio secrets, people on their (unofficial) forum rave all over them.
