Ever since I got my Albert Lee model, I have only played my Tele once. I played it for about 5 minutes and the Tele is harder to play and doesn't sound as much like a really good Tele as my Albert Lee does.

My Albert Lee sounds better than any Strat I have ever heard or played also.

Congrats Ernie Ball/Music man! Now, I have to figure out what to do with my Tele.

Hi Butch, i've listened to your mp3's and i think you bought just the perfect guitar for your style. You play great stuff, i really liked it.
I was wondering if you were planning to use some kind of bender unit on your new Albert Lee? Wouldn't that be the perfect combination? this guitar with a b-bender?
I know they manufactured one for Albert, but i guess that was a one off built for him. I don't think they're going to offer it to the public.
I also own an Albert Lee and i'm thinking what would the best way to get a bender on this guitar. For me a Parsons/White bender system won't be an option, because the body has to be routed. Would a Hipshot b-bender work on this guitar? Maybe you know?

Hi Michell,

Thanks for the compliments!

I have decided not to put a bender on my Albert Lee guitar. The combination of the pickups and wood are just perfect. I'm afraid that if anything was to be done to the wood, it might have adverse effects on its tone. Kind of the same reason Brent Mason won't ever paint his Tele.;)

There is a guy that I know who is working with Sterling to build Benders for the Albert Lee model. I have talked to him and he says he can do it and still have the bender "trigger" on the upperbout instead of the "Glaser-type" trigger behind the neck heel.

I can't, however, remember his contact info; but I'll look.

Cheers,

Would that be Bill Bores of The bender guitarshop in Texas?
I purchased a tele body from him with a b-bender installed. Great stuff btw.
He told me he had talked to Albert about getting him the perfect b bender.
The perfect guitar for Albert would be one that has the trem as well as the b bender and piezo i think.

bye
