Well, I've been saving for awhile and working and I finally put a down payment on the bongo at the local guitar shop. I got a hell of a deal too. The bass was on clearance for $999, and i got it down to $900 W00T!!!

Just thought I'd share!

What are the details? And, of course, pics are needed.

Never having used layaway or downpayments, I'm not sure how it works. Do you have to wait until you've paid the entire price to get the bass, or did you walk out with it?

Yeah. The store "lays it away" until it's paid in full. It's not like credit. You don't get the item until it's paid for.

yep,
Lay it away until all is paid in full or forfeit what is paid if not paid for by a certain time,(most work like that).
I can't help but wonder why a new bongo would be so inexpensive. If I could find one that reasonable I would buy it, and I really don't want one.

Well, it's been ther for 7 months, if not longer, and i've been watching it just sit there and collect dust. I had played it and wasn't really interested in it. THen they dropped it to $999 a few months ago, and i started playing it alot and fell in love with it. I have a real good relationship with the guys there and we got it down to about $915 + tax :p

That is about the way I came to own a Custom Hamer Cruisebass USA.
It was order, never picked up, after a period of a couple of years the store put it back and forgot about it. I being able to roam around the rear working /stock room spotted it and ......... :D
