I've got this musicman I bought of someone on craigslist. First thing I did was take the neck off to check the dates. Feb 1st for the neck, Feb 3rd for the body; the year is confusing though its blurred so its hard to tell if it says 1988 or not. Skimming through photo's I've become convinced it is 1988, but still I'm yet to find another photo of another musicman anywhere that has the same finish. The body is stamped BLUBRST which I'm sure is meant to mean blueburst, but even searching for blueburst basses I find no photo's that look like my bass. It has very, very strong hints of green in the finish. It came with a clear pickguard. In this particular photo (taken days after buying it) I had taken the pickguard off, and you can see that the outline of the pickguard is still there. Is this normal?? whats the deal?!?

That is the colour I would have had for my SR5 had the dealer gotten one in their next shipment at the time. I ended up getting transparent white, so I can't really complain, but that blueburst was (and is) really nice.

When did you get that bass?
A couple years ago I saw an old one with that same wear patch on it...I thought it was on ebay.
