Myung Roasted Bongo

This is mostly speculation, but Jordan Rudess posted this picture to Twitter yesterday.


Is it just me, or is that the back of a Roasted Bongo with the new tuners?

Sure looks like it!

Speaking of John Myung, wasn't he field-testing some kind of variation on the Bongo 6? It had what looked like recessed knobs or buttons and possibly also a narrower string nut. I seem to recall him photographed with that bass.

He has a custom Bongo 6 with tighter spacing, a neck from a 5 stringer and all the knobs are removed because John doesn't mess with his settings.

Yeah, those are definitely the new tuners and the neck does look slightly roasted but I can't tell if it is a gloss finish or matte finish? It could also just be a natural neck with the lighting making it look roasted.
