The other night I had the chance to personally meet Lead Guitarist (Also favorite guitarist of all time) of The Human Abstract, AJ Minette. I asked him what his favorite guitar pickup was and he told me it was the pickups that the John Petrucci Music Man guitars used before DiMarzio Crunch Lab and Liquid Fire pickups became standard. Does anyone know the model name of this said pickup?

JP used custom-wound DiMarzio pickups based off the AirNorton/Steve's Special combo before switching to the D-Sonic in the bridge in 2006.

Yup, the customs were close versions of the Steve's Specials and Air Nortons. My fave set too...
