So I took a few students to go see the Nathan East clinic that was in town tonight and it was awesome! Man Nate can rip it up. BUT the EB/MM content was when he was telling a story about how he "got an earful"[a statement which he repeated a few times over the incident] when he played a Music Man during one year's Grammy appearance!!!!!! :p :p
I know that a Grammy appearance leads to alot of potential buyers but c'mon... the talk of BP and his infamous handshake contracts with Artists is a little different than the Yxxxxx guys rippin' Nathan a new one over one TV appearance. Sure BP would probably be pissed but more disappointed than anything. I don't think he'd give an Artist an 'earfull' maybe a wedgie and a 'free dance with Ursula' but that's about it I'm sure.

To me, it would all depend on what his contract with Yxxxxx reads like pertaining to his use of thier products in public which I don't have in front of me.

To make an agreement in writing then to whine when the other side holds one to their word is also not cool in my book but like I said, I don't have a copy of his contract with me here so I dunno.

I cant speak for Yamaha, but I will tell you that if any of our signature artist played a different guitar on national tv I would talk to them about where we were in our relationship.

There are extenuating circumstances like this years Les Pauls 90th where Luke out of respect played a LP. It was discussed beforehand and I agreed that it was only righ that he play a LP. Respecting Les Paul was more important than being the only dork that insisted on playing his axe....

Eyewunder what Nathan's FULL version of the story is ...
a) Maybe he's got a toothache, and saying "cheese for the "Yamera" hurts ...
b) Maybe he wants to play a truly fine bass once in a while ...
c) Maybe feeding your family is one thing; and money isn't everything after all.

I think I get the "Wedgie" bit, but what does this "Dance with Ursala" mean??

Lefty, Ursula is the extremely dangerous buffing robot at the factory, they keep it in a cage for your safety.

Ursula was named by Beth and the warning sign was used for the open house pass.

I played one of NE's sig Yamaha models for a few weeks and wasn't to impressed.

I think NE would be better off with a MM.

However, when he plays his Yammy, he doess have a hell of a tone!

I think it would be safe to assume that there's a strong possibility that what NE plays is not quite the same as what is being sold as his sig model.......
