A while back, there was a thread here that featured a Stingray 4 that had been refinished/refurbished in a natural finish with gold hardware. I've been searching but I can't remember any of the words in the thread to search for.

Can anyone remember the thread and provide a link?

Thanks in advance!

As you can see, the bass was originally black, so not a good candidate for a natural finish, but it is interesting looking. I'm not diggin' that dark streak along the top of the body. Sunburst or tobacco burst would have looked better IMO. And that bridge plate is interesting too - it works, but doesn't look quite right.

There's a reason why certain bodies are painted, and a select few are worthy to show off their beautiful grain...JMHO...
Very nice job, bit a white pickup cover with gold poles would be killer!

So i was way off with my original post! lol :p
But thanks for the link, interesting read, not a big fan of re-finishes but that one looks like it has been done well with all the changes made being easily reversible, just hope the mute bridge has been put up safe.
The black stripe along the top of it is a bit off putting but doesn't look to bad..... (in a coffee table kind of way :p)
But all in all nice work !

I like they tried to keep the original look with the new plate under the bridge. Still looks a bit funny to me. I think i would have liked to see the original bridge sent off to be plated. JOSH

I like natural if the wood has some character in the graining and that one does with those stripes.

Thumbs up here.
