ok so i've looked at a few pics of natural finished sterlings and stingers, now i know some came with out a finish, so made it kind of dull?

but i also notice even though finished with a look of clear coat some seem to be a lil darker in wood contrast then others?

did they change per year? or just depends on individual bass finish?

can you request this?

thanks

All had a finish.

Most natural MMs have a glossy finish, but some from the mid nineties have a satin/velvet finish. This is no longer an available option.

There's also premium natural which has a more highly figured wood grain. This is an extra $300 (IIRC)

I asked Beth the exact same question, and the answer is that EBMM will only make premium ash bodies with natural finish.

My Ray has a finish called 'Natural Velvet'. It is a satin type finish and was produced in the mid-nineties. It certainly shows off the grain of the ash very nicely. See the 'Picture Gallery' thread for photos.
