This is my first EBMM. I love it. I traded a 2001 American Jazz for it. EB confirmed it's a '94 in Sunburst.

Should I get a different color guard for it? What looks killer with the Sunburst/Rosewood combo?

Nothing nicer than a NBD!!
Welcome to the forum.
The black guard you have on there would be my first choice, not a fan of white PGs, black sets the burst off nicely! Enjoy

That's how the first Sterlings came. Matte black.
Had an StingRay from that era in the same sunburst finish (later named honeyburst) came with an matte white.
Tort would be too much.

I switched out a tort one on mine for black, get more compliments on it now. I like tort but the black looks more elegant. Easy to change back and forth while you decide which you like.

So what amps do you all like with EBMM’s? I have an EBS HD350 and a Euphonic iAmp 500 I run through GK Neo112’s.

I have a 98 Sterling fretless, same honeyburst finish with a pao ferro board. It came with a white pickguard but I switched to black, and stuck with it. Best choice IMO

Welcome to the forum.

I like how it looks right now with the black one. It’s a beautiful bass with some nice wood grain. I’m sure you’re going to love it.

The black looks awesome! Although, if it were me...and it had all that chrome hardware, I'm prone to matching things up....

Can you tell me if your '90s Sterling has body routs for a H or a S under the pickguard?
