Quick and dirty pics, replete with bad, midday light and backyard kid detritus. Only maybe two basses have ever taken my breath away when I first opened the case, and this is one of them. It's back in its case acclimating to the temperature change now. YAY!

Gracias, everyone. I have wanted a Sterling 5 since I first played one at NAMM when they came out. Took me long enough. :) It is a VERY fine bass indeed!

Thanks, Koogs!

I just spent some time with it, going through all the settings, and playing all the crap I usually play when not with a band. I must say, this bass has absolutely nailed my expectations based upon memories of every Sterling 5 I have played previously. My favorite sound is the bridge humbucker by itself (naturally,) but the ceramic single-coil sounds on this bass are HUGE. Even more so than the 20th SR5 HS and Bongo 4HS which I have played extensively. This bass is going to see many, many gigs of every kind.

Dave Marotta told me he didn't have the "confidence" to play a sparkly green bass! I was like, "Yeah, sure, buddy."

Nice one, Ben. Very nice indeed.
