I tripped over a deal I couldn't pass up and got this beautiful Sky Blue Bongo HHp last night. This is my first bass with the piezo system and I love it. I spent some time last night a/b testing against my Bongo 4H and the HHp adds a clarity in the upper mids when blended with the magnetic pickups. It also weighs much less than either of my 4H. Maybe it's the tuners but its nice. The fit and finish are perfect, no suprise there. The Sky Blue has a bit of green that comes through in the light. It's a stunning bass in person, these crappy cell pics don't do it justice. I know I've got more kicka$$ gear than my playing ability should allow, but as so many have noted, it's an addiction.

Congrats, ...he, he...I see, invasion of new (tuners) Bongos is started!

Oh yeah. I love them.

Actually, I picked it up from MF online. Looks like this model & color is going to be a "regular" offering from MF and GC. Mine is brand spankin new out of the box.

Yeah the piezo is bad ass... I would LOVE KevinMs Bongo 5HHp PDN.

To me the Piezo was a nice feature, not something I used much so I got a 5HH in the color I really wanted & I'm cool without it.

I guess I'm a tone junkie, hence my GameChanger and the recently sold BA (on its way to mfallmann). The piezo is unexplored territory for me. The real test is how it sounds live and I'm not playing till next Friday. That's an outdoor gig up in the high country (11,600 ft - gotta take a gondola to get there!) so I'll see how it sounds in the thin air.

I often get asked by other Bassists what the extra knob is for on my SR4, I tell em that it is for the second pickup located under the twelfth fret ! and they accept what i say !! (they all play Fenders) Nuff said.....

Nice! The Guitar Center in Englewood, has or had your same exact bass. It was a 4 HHp in that same color and pickguard. They got it not to long after I got my PDN Honey Roasted Neck Bongo that is also a 4 HHp. One of the sales guys was picking my brain about mine so he could give better info to the customers that may ask about that Bongo. I'm happy for you. That is definitely one sweet bass.

My HHp is a pretty nice bass. I need to play it more but the group I play with on Sundays like the sound of my 25th better. I think it's because the Bongo takes over the song so much. There will come a time when my PDN is my main bass I just have to wait for the right mix.

You know, I have been thinking about maybe adding a Sterling-5 to my stable. Maybe something with a double H config. You know anyone who might have one sitting around? :teasing:

Congrats on the new bongo. If there isn't enough room on your wall, I could help you out and give that old SR5 another wall to hang on.

Haha! It's easy when you have premium bait.

Yes, the OP is a killer bass. The piezo adds a fullness that really brings out the sound.
