Well I got my Stingray 5 today. Man! She's a looker! BFR Stingray 5 in ginger burst #7 of 89 and while it is brand new, I'm the 1st owner it was in fact built in December 2019.
Got her all tuned up and ready to go. Looks like they put new strings on it and left them totally slacked to ship. So waiting if now that it's tuned up if the set up will need any tweaks.
The bass is what I would call on the light side, 8.4 lbs. Very, very comfortable and easy to play, I prefer gloss necks.
This is my 1st 5 string and I'm really getting a kick out of it! This is also my 1st active bass and is very responsive to the controls and sounds awesome!
Different than my others a Ric 4003s and a avii 1966 Jazz which is great. This is definitely the most comfortable.
