Ordered through the design experience. It is spectacular. The tonal options with the 5 way switch provide so many usable tones. Still learning about the pre amp but its powerful and useful for sure. The trans teal finish is beautiful; darker than I thought it would be but really nice. I ordered the SLO Special neck and it is so comfy - feels like home. It is light: 8.2 lbs. I play in an oldies band. Not sure I can make this work due to my limited skills, but if I can I will. Now to practice practice practice. Pics:

Great ax !

Yes practice practice. Just keep in mind that the "right" spot to finger a note is only loosely related to where a metal fret would be.

Fingertips are bigger than frets. The "right" spot is not "The Exact" spot. The BEST spot at any moment may be a tiny bit flat or sharp of the mathematically exact spot. There definitely are WRONG spots but those will keep changing note by note. WRONG would be flat where sharp belongs, and viceversa. Which direction to "err" upon is governed by both the preceding note AND the upcoming note.

Theres no intellectualizing how that works. Its organic. When speaking, we do not have an exact way to say the words. The sound of each word is unconciously adjusted to fit its place in the stream or sequence. Same deal with fretless notes. Soooooo .... practice practice practice, NOT for mathematical perfection but for fluency, like learning to speak a language. Speaking a language is different than reading or writing it. Same with a stream of notes. Play the stream.

Sweet! I've been considering using the Design Experience to get a fretless, though lined.

How long did it take to receive it after your placed your order?
