So today I picked up my first Stingray and EB/MM bass, a 2005 LTD edition in Buttercream (excuse the poor pictures):

It was a trade for a german bass, trade is not final, we will keep each other's basses for a week or two and see how we like them - but I already have a good vibe from this one!

Sweet Bass indeed... Congrats! What color is your next one going to be? (insert sinister laugh here...) :)

Very nice bass. I wish I had kept mine!

Where did that bass come from, Jack? Oh, never mind...

Thanks for the nice welcome, people! The bass was acquired in a local trade in Stockholm, Sweden. I am the third owner AFAIK.

When the trade becomes final, I am definitely putting flats on the bass. Right now there are some very dead rounds on it. I want the low tension flats, thinking of the EB IV flats, 0.40 set. Any thoughts on these strings? I heard Ed Friedland demo a Stingray with those flats, and they sounded great.

Very nice bass, congratulations! I have been GAS'ing for a buttercream as of late for some reason. Hopefully the trade sticks because you have gotten a very nice bass.

I recorded a short video of the bass. Completely dead rounds, slight bass boost, even slighter :D mid cut, through my Apogee Jam with Photobooth.

Nice to have you join the clan Samuel!
Congratulations on a smashing Stingray, the 2005 ltd is one of my alltime fave finishes.

Cheers,
Mattias (BB3000S on the Swedish bass forum)
