Traded for a 20th Anniversary 5 string a while back but could never get the action right. After much consultation and wrenching of hands, sent it back to SLO for a new roasted maple neck. Went with a maple board instead of the original rosewood too as all of my other 5ers are rosewood. Just got it back and WOW!! Definitely a one-off now, I would think. They even added the 20th Anniversary decal. Big ups to Billy at EBMM!!

I had no idea the factory would swap necks. Is it because the old one was unable to be brought to specs?

Wow, they really went above and beyond with the roasted neck. Do they update the serial# database? I can imagine an authenticity conversation 20+ years from now over how that bass got that neck

Not sure if the serial# database is updated, but I have the receipt which details the change (in case there are any doubters out there in 2043!).
