This is probably a worn out question, but here goes. I played on a new SR over the weekend at GC. I was actually auditioning an EH POG, which I did buy. Do any maple necks and fingerboards come laquered "old style"? If not, why? While the new SR was fine, I perfer the old feel of my '77. Can one be ordered with the neck finished that way? Thanks.
P.S. I played this new red SR (fingerboard not maple) that was to die for.

Hi roree,

Unfortunately (for you), EBMM doesn't make laquered necks anymore unless you can get your hands on a 30th anniversary edition. There are a few of them still out there. I'm sure your GC could get their hands on one for you.
