Hi Guys, as i red recently on the website the procedure about neck restoring, i've just seen this video where the man uses also the sandpaper before putting the oil and the wax.

So i was thinking to to the same, i've just some doubts and want to post the procedure:

1) Clear rear of the neck with oil soap, could it be ok use in alternative ethylic alcool (not so much)?

2) On the website faqs is not written, but the man use the sand paper to clean carefully, what do you suggest?

3) Pass the true oil, wait 5 minutes for drying, and then pass paper

4) Pass the wax, if i don't have the wax of birchwood, a normal beeswax is ok?

Many thanks in advance!!

Cheers!!:)

This is what I do...

1) Sandpaper. (600 to 1200 works fine). No cleaning with anything before hand, because sandpaper and I keep my neck kinda clean anyway.

2) Wipe on tru-oil with paper towel, wipe off with fresh paper towels, no waiting for drying.

3) Wipe on gunstock wax with paper towel, wipe off with fresh paper towels, no waiting for drying.

String up, rock on.

That video is good. Follow the instructions. Note also that you don't need so much oil (or wax), little goes far. And you only need to clean the neck if it looks dirty.
