I took the neck off my MM Axis to find the word 'premium' written with a red marker in the neck pocket as well as the date and also stamped '300'. So now I'm curious of course, what does the term 'premium' and '300' mean exactly?

Thanks

It was gonna happen sooner or later, so.....

OT: Ask CS. They will more than likely tell you the meaning behind the words.

EDIT #2: Why does OT show as off topic, when it should say ON topic?

I'm pretty sure the Premium refers to the top. Axis' used to be able to be ordered with a premium top (better figure) as an option, but they stopped doing that a few years ago.
I could be wrong though, and I don't know what the 300 refers to.

You're sure it's 900 and not 006? Maybe it's something like 006 - the license to shred.

Body code "300" is for an Axis. If I were to order a Black Axis w/ maple neck it would be build #300-01(black)-10(maple fb, natural headstock)-00 (no pickguard)
-Premium refers to the customer specifying a flame/quilt top (no longer an option)

Body code "900" is for the Steve Morse model
You can also see that the neck pocket is stamped "trans" because it is a nicer looking piece of wood that would be good for a translucent color like Morse Blue Burst
