Quick question, I play a MM Sterling and love it! I've owned Stingrays, but the neck is just a little too wide for my preference. Would E.B. ever consider (or make available as a special order) a Stingray with a "Jazz/Sterling" width neck? I'd be very interested if they would! I bet others would , also.

Moses and Status make stingray replacement necks, they are made of graphite.

I know Moses and Status make replacement necks, but your looking at another $300-$400 ontop of the original bass cost! Are the replacement necks any thinner in width? I'd rather have an all original Stingray with original neck, just thinner width.

Hopefully the forum hosts will answer for MM. I know G&L makes a "jazz" width neck for it's L2000 model. I own one. Warmoth will only make a standard thin Fenderish neck. I think you should keep a Stingray, all Stingray. If you want a full size bass with a thin neck, think G&L.

I've never been a fan of G-L's. The few G-L's that I have played have been really heavy basses. Maybe it's just me, I just can't bring myself to playing one. Like I said in a previous post, I play a MM Sterling and love it, but would like to see a Stingray with a "Jazz bass" neck width. E.B. can do it if they want to? I think it would be a popular option.

When not playing EBMMs, I play Jazz basses, so you'd think I would be more sensitive to the neck profile issues. I mean, the most common things you hear are that the Stingray is more like a Precision and the Sterling is more like a Jazz, right?

I hear that a lot. I do agree to some extent that the Sterling is more like a Jazz, but I don't really see the comparison between the Stingray and Precision.

Precisions feel big and chunky and fat to me, and my left hand complains if I play one for more than a set. I don't get that with a Stingray.

Different neck sizes may be something EB wants to look at; certainly Fender has offered that option for years, but if they don't, I think I'll still be okay with those regular old Stingray necks.
