I am absolutely loving my 2007 LE SR. The Blue Dawn colour looks amazing.

Anyways, the maple neck is sanded and I was curious how it will wear. Will it discolour quicker than normal painted/stained/finished necks?

StingRays have gunstock oli & wax finish since about 1990. AFAIK, the unfinished neck was introduced together with the capstan wheel truss adjustment and the 6 bolt neck.

Search for gunstock oli & wax finish on the forums. You'll find many tips on maintenance.
I've been playing basses with oil & wax finish for over twenty years exclusively and never had a problem. Wash your hands before playing, and give the neck some neck maintenance (the new Wonder wipes fretboard conditioner is just fine for the beginning) every month or so.

Maybe the neck darkens a bit faster than a poly coated neck -- my 03/2007 Dargie has already turned a bit yellow from almost white when I received it last September.

My 07 LE neck is already pretty discolored/dingey, and I just got that bass in september. Unfortunately, I work on diesels and I try washing my hands as best I can, but obviously my unfinished necks still get nasty.
