Hi guys,
I'm planning to invest my money on a decent recording (computer) for a simple standard home recording purposes. So I need some advices and some info about the specs and the estimation for how much it will costs. cause I'm a cave man, I know nothing about computer stuff lol. thanks in advanced ..:)

first decide what recording software you want, then check with the company for system requirements/compatibility. Digidesign has just released the m-box 2 mini, which is cheap and gets you started with pro tools.

thanks bro Colin, that's a good one, i need to check out the compability of the software with the compiter system. I also gonna check out the m-box that you've mentioned, thanks man!

I recommended the mbox because it's a cheap introduction to DAW recording. Many people will advise to get other things, but pro tools is the industry standard. Meaning every serious recording facility has it in some form or another. industry standard also doesn't mean it's the best but it must be doing something right to be so popular.

get a mac...100 times better for the music !!! Imac is just perfect to work home!

www.mcis.com they can talior make a mac for recording. I saw a advert for a macbook with digidesign and it cost around £1000. still quite expensive though, im not sure if you would be saving much.
I was going to buy a macbook and install cubase but i bought a silo instead!,lol

when you get into the high end stuff it's all pretty even in terms of performance. the quad core processors coming out are amazing. you can have a great computer but getting it onto your hard drive is another story...
