need help finding a repair shop

hello i couldn't find a thread to post my question so i'll do it here. i am looking for a QUALITY & TRUSTWORTHY guitar refinisher. what i am wanting done is to have the color changed. my guitar has an amazing flame top, i just don't care for the color it's in now. i was all set to go with SIMS CUSTOM SHOP, that was until i read bad reviews on this guy. I would really like to hear from anyone that has had this type of work done and can refer a shop that can do this. i really only want references on actual experiences and not just hear say. i would also like to know what the average cost should be. my guitar will be shipped with all the electronics and hardware removed, so there is no disassembly or putting it back together. and is it the norm to fully pay in advance? thanks to anyone who helps me with this
