Hello,

I have been using an ESP Ltd guitar, and since I am earning some money this summer, I am planning to change my guitar.

I am looking at JP6 or the new JPX model, and I can't decide which one to buy. (It seems like there is only a slight difference in price)

People say JPX is the ultimate JP guitar (and its ball family reserve!), and others say that that JP6's maple neck feels just amazing.

I really can't decide... please help me decide which one I should get.

Thanks a lot.

Louis, can't go wrong with either!!

However, I know what it is to "save" up money for a guitar. What I would do is definetly "play" both first.

It may not be easy to get at two of them (depending on where you are at) but you really need to do this if you want to be confident in your decision.

Perhaps you can call a few dealers and maybe they can work something out with you to get you both guitars knowing one is coming back.

I've done that before, and I picked up the shipping charge because it was worth it to me to make the right choice.

Anyway, it's exciting -good luck.:)

Thank you for your reply.

I like the JPX, but only thing that I am worried about is the neck.

So many people say that original's oiled unfinished neck is MUCH better, and I am just wondering how bad are the finished necks...

Depending on where you're at...

us Knuckleheads are pretty generous and if you have someone close to you that has one or the other or both... that would be a good way to go as well. For me i really like the unfinished neck of my silos... and can't imagine playing anything else...

If money is a problem then there's nothing wrong with getting a jp6. They're still great guitars. I've tried out the jpx and the playability was excellent, however I just prefer unfinished necks. It's all subjective, and like a previous poster said you should try them before you buy one of them.
