Hey all...i have been wanting to ask everybody here this for a long time.

Does anybody here subscribe to guitar word magazine? If you do, (i know this is a little bit of a wild goose chase) I am looking for a picture of EVH, it is identical to this one...

autograph.jpg

i shot this picture June 23, 1993...this photo came out in guitar world magazine 1-6 months later!! The photographer next to me must have shot it the same moment i did!

I had a copy of the mag in college, but it got lost somehow!

If anybody has a backlog of Guitar world mags and happens to find the issue w/ this picture, i would love to buy it from you!!!

If you do find it, you will be amazed at how much my picture looks like the one in the magazine...back in 1993, i was extreemly surprised!

thanks for your help! :)

Brent....this is a shot in the dark, but do you know what month/year we are looking for? I have a vast collection of guitar world and other guitar/bass related mags that I have kept through the vast years. But, I need to hone in on the month/year round about......my organization of said vast collection is somewhat quirky and this will help. Better yet, if you could remember who was on the cover.....that would make it really easy on me.

Koogs, I'm just "ok" at math, so I will guess Aug-Dec '93, Jan-feb '94 ;)

Pete, my math will only do "How many more rounds are left in the clip"...;)

After further review and actually reading the post more carefully, I can see the 1-6 months later part....LOL.....and of course, our resident comedian, Pete.....had to point that out to me....HAHAHAHAHA.....YOU ROCK BRO!

I will check shortly and let you know. Not a problem Brent.....if I have it, hopefully, I can send it to you. But, don't hold your breath on it....

Brent, after looking through mounds of mags, I cannot find the one in particular. However, being you like EVH, I do have a copy of the Guitar Legends Mag with nothing but EVH....if you like, I can send that to you.

Brent,
Let me check my archives. I was a *huge* Sammy Hagar and Van Halen fan at that time and grabbed anything I saw with those guys on it. I might have what you are looking for.

As uncool as it was to like, that version of VH was my favorite.

Foggy,
Back then it seemed to be the thing to do, i.e. bash the SH version over the original. I did like both versions and won't get sucked into a pointless debate about it.

I had been a Sammy fan since around '78 and loved Van Halen then too... Van Halen II came out the year I graduated so I have a lot of memories of that one. :D

So when Sammy joined Van Halen, I was absolutely ecstatic, but there was so much negativity going on about the change. I just sat back and enjoyed the music for the next 10 years. I thought it was a great era for the band and I think the live shows improved immensely during that time.

And whaddya know, EVH ended up playing Musicman guitars... I knew then that I would have to get one of those eventually. I wish I had made my move early on and scooped up a couple more, but that's life.

and hey, get a guitar damnit...
;)
