OK, here is my short story:

-I'm a lefty
-I'm looking for a 4-string "slapper"
-I have owned SR4s, SR5s and Sterlings. The reason I sold them was mainly because I couldn't live with only one bridge pickup - but the playability was just like nothing else, and I'm missing not having an MMEB.

Now enters the Bongo, and I have these questions:

1-Is (or will) the H-SC version available in left-hand? (a H-H will not really let me get slap crazy.)

2-Is the bridge pickup closer to the bridge in a Bongo than in a SR? In other words, does the Bongo bridge pickup sound just like an SR, or is it closer to the bridge (which I think)?

3-I'm concerned about the shape of the Bongo in terms of comfort. I usually like bodies with a wide "belly," or "hips," say, like an SR. My Sterling never felt very comfortable because of the smaller body. Both the SR4s and SR5s are very comfortable to me.

The Bongo's body shape seems small and very narrow at "the hips." Any comments?

4-My last question: will there ever be an SR4 with an H-SC pickup configuration? That really is what I'm looking for, but I would go for a Bongo if I can find them comfortable.

Thanks.

P>S: Psycho Ward: Do you think that you can have EB drop your lefty Bongo by my place first, so I can try it before it reaches you? You know, to make sure everything's alright!

The other thing you need to consider is that on the HSC bongo the single coil is in the same proximity to the fretboard as the humbucker is on the HH. The primary problem people have with slapping the Bongo is that there is not much room between the top of the pickup and the fretboard and it is the same for both versions.

Also the bridge pickup on the Dual Bongo models is closer to the bridge then your traditional musicman bass. The single H Bongo has the pickup in the usual sweetspot.
