hi I just got my luke guitar and something's bugging me. the dealer left the trem arm on in the case. Is it ok to do this or do I have to take the trem off before putting the guitar into the case?

I've got an LE (different case) so don't quote me on it, but the MM cases that I've seen are designed so you can leave the trem arm on in the case.

If you received the Music Man case, then it is designed to allow you to leave the trem arm on when you close the case - I never remove my trem arms when tucking my EBMMs into their cases... This only applies if you got the OHSC however - the EBMM cases are designed for this...

hehe thanks guys..I have the OHSC.. But it seems as though the case still presses on the arm when I close it (even with the cavity) or am I just paranoid? I couldn't have raised the arm unknowingly right? The arm height stays fixed doesn't it?

The Music Man molded case says "Music Man" on the side, and has a very obvious cavity in the case top for the trem arm. The Music Man tolex case has a plush bar in the case top at the body end designed to hold the guitar's body in place but leave lots of room for the trem arm. Both cases are substantially thicker than typical guitar cases of their type when closed because of the extra space needed to comfortably accomodate the tremolo arm. Neither case should press on the trem arm when the case is closed... at all...
