Need some technical help re-stringing.

I am re-stringing my sons Sterling by Music Man Sub Silo 3. I have gotten all of the strings off except for the high E. For some unknown reason, it will not go through the hole in the body and bridge. The string just bends but the little circular thing at the end of the string stays in the body.bridge and won't come out. Does anyone have any advice how I can get it out? This is the first time I have ever encountered this before.

That curl may be getting stuck on something. I've had this happen before. Try either tugging gently on the string from below with your hand or pliers if you prefer. Not a big deal if this is the case.

Unwind a paper clip and push it through. Have had that happen many times.

Wooden Cocktail stick does it for me (always have a couple in my tool bag). It's an annoying problem when it does happen.
