I was playing Guitar Hero III and Rock Band with my 5 year old over the weekend, he's really hooked, really getting into the music, etc. So we were spending the money earned in the games and bought some of the guitars. It's obvious that G*bson is the licensed big name in the Guitar Hero series and F#nder is the licensed big name in Rock Band. So this morning my son says, "daddy, let's go to Guitar Center and buy a V-Factor". The V-Factor was one of the G*bson Flying V's he bought and used in Guitar Hero III. So there I was with a possible "legitimate" excuse to buy another guitar but it sure wasn't going to be on that.

So I got to thinking, how awesome would it have been if there was an Axis or JP or something available for purchase on the games and he says "daddy, let's go buy an EBMM today"! We would've been in my truck quicker than you can say "a".

I realize it's not going to happen due to the obvious cornering of the market so to speak with the sponsorships in the game but this "EBMM junkie with GAS looking for any lame excuse to use to convince the wife I need another guitar" can dream can't he??!!:D

In Guitar Hero I & II for the PS2 you could get a Stingray4 for the bass player, and in Guitar Hero World Tour the only strings sponsored are Ernie Ball so.... one way or another EBMM got their foot in the door there. But yes it would be awesome if you could get their actual guitars to play with your favourite character.

Perhaps BP can explain more what is the deal there with their sponsorship, I am sure there have been talks of course.
