Off Topic Need your help for my pedalboard

I'm torn between the TC Hall of Fame reverb and the Strymon BlueSky

Do you guys had a chance to make a side by side comparaison?

I lke the Strymon for the favorite sound switch and the shimmer effect and I like the TC for its simplicity and affordable price (the strymon is 100 euros dearer)

Tonewise, I really love them both and can't really decide and don't tell me take both

My pedalboard will be

TC Polytune, Suhr Shiba, Mesa V-Twin, EB Volume pedal, Rocktron chorus, Eventide Time factor, and a reverb

I also need Boss DS-1 for certain sound but this cant wait a bit

any of your valuable comments welcome

I suppose it depends how you use your reverb. I tend to like a simple hall or plate, just a bit of ambience. The TC is less expensive and smaller than the Strymon, so it made it an easy choice for me. I really like it.

That said, I don't like that the TC won't do a long predelay. (My old Verbzilla used to do a long delay, which was great.)

I will use my pedalboard directly into the PA so I need to replace the spring reverb but also like loooooooooooooong reverb for atmospheric solos

though choice really between the 2 my perfect reverb is probably a mix of the 2 or the Eventide Space but too expensive for what I want to do with it

I've been looking at the eventide Space as well. I'd like to buy one and play with it to see if it would meet my needs.

the Reverberator by Dr Scientist... i have it on my board now and love it

although if i were building a second board i would look at the Hall of Fame because of the small footprint and the value of the pedal as it was in close contention for the board i have now

I have a Damage Control Timeline and an Evendtide Harmonizer - so I am sold on the Strymon!!

Remember, reverb is unlike any other effect , in that it is a "necessity" for ANY sound that conveys a "pure natural" note. There is a element in any sound of reverb, no matter how small to the point where you can't hear it. All vibrations (sounds) have reflection.

That is why so many amps included "reverb" as the ONLY effect since day one, it was deemed a "necessary" element to ALL sounds.

So, with that said, I prefer a slight mist reverb (almost undetetable) to my sound, then I have delay which takes it from there. I almost don't need reverb, however, the NATURAL note (the spice) can be detected as missing to descriminate eaters. So, even though it is small in my sound, it MUST be quality.

Therefore, Eventide Harmonizer (to me) sets the standard!!

Wow. Your post nails it. I used to have an h3000 ages ago and my base sound was a small room at about 9% wet and about a 5 second decay. It was the perfect setting for distortion because it was so subtle but worked wonders for livening up the tone. I bought a neunaber Wet pedal, but had way too tough a time dialing in a subtle sound. I'd love to get a blue sky, but I think I would eventually be bummed by the two settings (the knobs and then the favorite switch). I'm leaning pretty heavily toward the Space pedal. I love the way the stompboxes are set up and the new hotswitch is the bomb. It eliminates the need for a expression pedal if you don't need the values in between the parameter settings.

I will say that if you are thinking about the Hall of Fame reverb, check out the Dr. Scientist pedal mentioned above. It sounds better then the HOF and isnt too much more. My friend bought one and we were blown away. I have a Frazz Dazzler and it kills every other fuzz I've heard in both uniqueness and musicality.

Just pointing out that the eventide space is really, really awesome. It's worth it for the U2 effect alone (which is pretty much all that mine does as I don't really use a lot of any reverb).

wow thanks guys for the cool advise. I think I will go with the Strymon now and may upgrade it to the Eventide Space. The time factor is really a great pedal and I have no doubt the Space is also one.

it's my favorite reverb pedal very versatile...

The future is here. I saw one of these @ L&M in Toronto today and kind of laughed at the price. After watching Alex Hutchings demo it though, I was convinced the future has arrived. From so many reverb pedals I've been looking into, that Strymon really looks very promising. Reverb is an essential effect to have I think, and the BlueSky has more options than most other pedals. I do like the fact that it has the favorite switch as well.

just a quick update on that thread, after some of your advise guys I finally got a TC Nova System Limited

Fantastic sounding units that I can use as regular stompboxes and still have presets the build in drive is just fantastic I may not need my V-Twin anymore but will keep it for sure

Now I have all my sounds to built for the next gig in December ....

Glad to see another Nova System user. After the dust settled from the first wave of faulty units people started to realize what a simply stunning piece of equipment it really is.

a the moment I'm running with my Marshall acoustic amp with Speaker sim "on", I need to get my amp (Fender HotRod Deluxe) back from our rehearsal room to test it and create the patches properly.

but sound is really wooooooooooooooooow so far

I'm having a lot of fun with the patches from the limited edition

i regret selling my V-Twin... i'm sure it would take my dr z maz 18 to a whole new level... now im just waiting for my Tim to show up.
