Last week, I found myself G.A.S.ing extrememly hard for a Classic 'Ray 5, so I figured I'd parlay the mighty G.A.S-inducing muscle of my True Gold/Solid Roasewood BFR Sterling HS-5 in hopes that a very unique Classic SR might get offered up in trade. By unique, I was actually hoping for a really sick birdseye neck on preferably, a black bod. So, I throw a FS/FT feeler out at that other place (and here for a short time as well).
After a couple days of tire-kicking, a few interesting trade offers, and a botched sale, I get a PM on Sunday night asking if I might be interested in a Bongo 5-HH. NOW, had the author (awesome guy BTW) not been so clever as to actually post pics in the PM, I most likely would have turned him down.
Other than in various pics on The Interwebs, I have never even seen a Bongo in person let alone handle one. As a matter of fact, I've always found the aesthetics a little...off-putting. But when I saw those pics I was immediately intrigued! I thought about it for about 20 minutes and decided to pull the trigger. A day and a half later, I'm plugging in my very first Bongo! But not just ANY Bongo, a BFR Black Sugar, Roasted/Ebony necked monster that looks as good as it sounds. And it sounds effing FANTASTIC! And really ergonomically sound too.
I am now a convert. Who knew?
Now I know what you guys have been babbling on and on about!
I am a Bongoloid.
