This is my first Thread ! I am not a painter, but just had an idea.

Anyhow, how about "Washed Sunburst" ? Basically, regular sunburst, but "faded" (somehow)....Then, instead of the gloss-coat top, use the Clear Satin that is used for the neck.

Would that mess with the Tone ??? Thoughts Anyone ??

I'm guessing you're referring to the option that some other manufacturers offer that some call a "Faded" finish.

It could be cool, but it would kind of be jumping on the bandwagon.

What I would be interested in, would be an option to have the guitar finished in Nitrocellulose Laquer.

My understanding is that this can't be done in California, so the body would probably have to be shipped to Mexico and sprayed, and assembled in SLO.

Faded finished normally mean that its a 'unfinished' finish. I have another guitar makes guitar like this, and its already all wearing away. Its only a year or so old.

Washed Sunburst sounds more to me like what Gibson has done with the Lightburst.
It is kind of like taking a Heritage Cherry finish and making it much less bright...almost fading out the original bright color.
Faded finish and faded color are two different things to me.

"Faded Color" was more what I was thinking....Keep the great quality, just a different color. That was it.

I just figured the different clear coat would keep the "faded look" (??).
