Hello everyone. I’ve been trying to focus on collecting the Anniversary StingRays, but this BFR run is so special that I absolutely had to have one of the fretless StingRays in Vintage Sierra Burst.

I love everything about this run. The ash body, the roasted, flamed maple neck, the absence of pick guard, the burst finish. The neck is glossy instead of oiled but, man, I’ve been thrilled with every Music Man glossy neck that I’ve had so I’m sure I’ll love this one, too.

It will arrive next week, but here is some bass porn for your viewing pleasure:

Thank you. I’m looking forward to it’s arrival.

I was hoping they would do a fretless roasted maple run, but they really took it a step further by leaving out the pick guard. I love it.

On my 20th Anniversary StingRay, they glued on the pick guard instead of using screws. It’s the little touches like these that I love so much.

Is that the one from Wildwood Guitars? Insanely beautiful, looking forward to more pics. And that's already quite a collection. I have the 4-string 30th Anniversary Stingray and it's awesome. Congrats!

Wow, Muggsy, you have a really good eye and an excellent memory. Yes, this one is from Wildwood.

I love your 30th StingRay. How do you like the glossy neck? I love mine. I can see quite a bit of birds-eye under the maroon dye on my neck. Does yours have birds-eye?

I also love your solid rosewood neck Albert. You have a great collection. Does your honey burst have a pau ferro fretboard?

Thanks Tollie! I'm totally jealous, please post more pics of that BFR when it arrives. The flamed neck is outrageous. My neptune blue Bongo has a roasted neck and I was hoping for one like that when I ordered it, but mine is much more subtle.

I do like the glossy neck on the 30th, and mine also has visible birdseye under the finish. I have that one hanging in my bedroom and have been playing it a lot lately, it's a great bass. The Sterling does have a pao ferro board, coated in epoxy by Mike Lull's shop according to the guy I bought it from many years ago.

Well, I received this amazing bass last week and I am very, very happy with it.

The glossy finish on the neck makes the flames pop out like crazy. Non-glossy flamed maple sometimes needs to catch the light just right to shimmer, but with the gloss finish it looks beautiful from any angle. I swear that if you look down at it, the wood grain looks three dimensional. You can get lost in there.

The sound is just wonderful. It’s really deep and full.

Another outstanding special run from our friends at ebmm. Keep up the good work. You have raised the bar yet again. I keep asking myself where the company will go from here?…how much better can they get?…and, they keep impressing me time and time again. I mean, have you seen the new Petrucci?!? Wow.

Beautiful bass! The neck is spectacular and I like that you can see more of the burst without a pickguard.

FWIW, that whole collection is beautiful.
