Hi everybody.

I just want to share my excitement about this. I've just sent the 50% advance for the guys at EBMM start working on my new Bongo 5-string fretless (unlined fingerboard) with two humbuckers and piezo bridge. Color: Desert gold. Pickguard: Since I couldn't decide between black pearloid or python, I ordered both.

Now the waiting has just started. It took five months to have my beloved fretted Bongo with me...

I understand your excitement, now that I've reserved one of Jack & Steve's Buttercreams. I chose the SR5 H/S rosewood (sorry Jack). It's the first bass I've had "on order" since I ordered a Rickenbacker 4001 back in '73. Took me months of working after high school at a local department store to pay the $600 for it.

Like you guys, I'm waiting, too!

Dargin exerted his Evil Influence yet again.

I guess it's nice that we have a support group.

Maybe we need an official "Waiting For Bongo" thread. Only those who have ordered and are waiting are allowed to play.

Yes, I thought I'd mentioned this....called Dargin to see about a single H and ended up with a Pearl Blue Bongo 5 HS on order.

He says it should be ready in February.

But hold on, what about us waiting for an SR or Sterling? Just lump us all together, no?

I'd say no.

Bongoloids are weird and should be put in their own cage so they don't pollute the gene pool.

Bongoloids enjoy swimming against the current.

Bongoloids savor adversity.

Bongoloids don't give a d*mn what anyone thinks of them.

Bongoloids either don't care about the unusual aesthetics of their weapon of choice, or actually get off on the fact that they're so controversial. This indicates one of two things: a) a high degree of maturity, or b) a high degree of warped-ness. A blessed few might achieve both.

Sterling/Stingray buyers just like nice basses.

Considering I'm a true failure as an adult (and all-around human-being)...

...I'm going with option 'B'. :D
