Was there a case redesign lately for the JP series? I have my eye on a new PDN run JP for sale from a well known dealer and the pics show a molded plastic HSC as opposed to the standard wood/leather style design that all of my others shipped with. Is this type of case specific only to the PDN runs or are all EBMM shipping with this type of case now? If they are the new norm, where can I purchase?

As far as I know only the BFR's come with the deluxe case, the JP6 always came in a plastic case like the one you mentioned.

My Maj came in the plastic case, as did my Albert Lee. My JP15, however, came with the wood/tolex/leather one. I saw a vid and the St. Vincent comes in the plastic case. I'm not sure what the criteria is, to be honest. But I don't like the plastic cases. They feel cheap, and BOTH guitars that came in them have suffered moisture damage (massive fret rot on my AL and the first fret inlay started to come loose in my Maj).

I definitely prefer the wooden cases. The guitars fit a little looser, but they allow airflow (instead of trapping humidity/moisture) and they're just a bit classier overall.

I prefer the plastic case, sold the wood one. The JPs fit the standard EBMM case you can get anywhere.

Yea, even the wood cases aren't perfect. The one my JP13 came in is warped in such a way that the middle latch never quite ... latches ... but it gets the job done.

The particular guitar I am looking at is a BFR JP7, so QuietSpike's statement seems to be accurate.

I have 3 JPs all in the old style wood/tolex cases, and all of them have suffered some sort of damage during shipping or traveling. I typically have to reset the neck in the pocket everytime I open them up after traveling. Of course, it's the courrier's fault and not EBMM. I had UPS put a nice hole through the wood shell already.

Regardless, I'm always looking for a better solution and when I saw these cases I thought it'd be worth a shot to try one and see if I have better luck.

So again, where can I order one of these??? Do I have to buy that shiny new JP7 just to see what they are all about! :)
