I've lost count of the number of times I've listened to this already. Unlike On the Backs of Angels, I loved this song from the first listen (OtBoA had to grow on me when it first came out, love it now).

I also think JP's tone VASTLY improved since A Dramatic Turn of Events. Also they totally unchained Mangini. A ton of my friends who heard the last album thought he wasn't as good as Portnoy, but I told them all to wait until the next album...and here we are now!

Pretty much exactly as I imagined anyway, they haven't strayed too far from the DT formula, good stuff though if you like that.

The lowest note, at least in the intro, is a B. So it could very well be a 7 string - what would also extend the upward range and make soloing easier.

Listened to it a few times before posting my comments! I dig that new song a lot! JP's tone got some "growl" in the main riffs.

I did not like "a dramatic..." but if this new song shows how their new release will be, it's going to rock!
