I never thought I'd own an EBMM. I thought I was going to stick with Ibanez for all my 6 and 7 string needs, but I wanted a piece of gear I could count on. My grandmother passed away in September of last year and left me enough money to get a new guitar and a new amp. I was going to buy a Schecter C-7 Hellraiser and a Mesa Triple Rectifier half stack. Then I thought, "No." and soon after looking through Ebay for a few Petrucci 7 strings, I decided to get one, fully loaded in Egyptian Smoke...

... and it arrives in a month (and counting:D).

On that note, what made you decide you wanted to play a Music Man?

Thanks! I'm entering the home stretch now, can't wait to open the case and see that finish. It's time to start losing sleep:D

I know exactly how you're feeling, man.

And i went for the JP7 because it's quite simply the most versatile 7 string out there, and for me it was just the best guitar i can buy, and the only guitar i need.

Exactly. When the idea of buying one popped in my head, the only question I had was "Why not?". I was intrigued by the piezo, so after I went to my local Guitar Center to get hooked on one, it was a done deal.

Definitely, the Piezo really makes all the diffrence.

just had a gig last week, with some heavy fusion stuff, the Piezo just turns this guitar from great to unbeliveble. it sounded amazing thru the PA, and the ability to go from heavy saturated distortion to that awesome acoustic with the flip of a switch is beyond awesome.

I think the body cutaways, the excellent trem, and the oil+wax neck were the big determining factors. I could only find a single Petrucci locally, and it was without piezo. I had never spent that much money on a guitar before, but when it came time to order I opted for the piezo thinking "what the heck".. I was already spending the $$..

In retrospect that piezo was money well spent. When playing live with the piezo through the PA I can get some beautiful sounds with a combination of that + the mags through my guitar rig. Really beautiful sounds. It makes for those 'magic' moments on stage, when a bandmate hears the rich guitar textures and looks over at you with that smirk of approval...

I'm sure I'm going to collapse as soon as I play it. After a week or two, I'll just be dumbfounded that I own it. I can't wait til I have it :(

Thanks, glad to be here. You guys weren't kidding about everyone being friendly. I'm so used to seeing trolling and immaturity in other forums, I actually enjoy it here.
