Help! New EBMM JP6 with Piezo owner that needs help!!!

I just got my new EBMM JP6 with Piezo in. First off this thing is gorgeous and amazing!

I have a few issues though. I have a Line 6 Amp with Bogner Tubes and when I plug my Ibanez RG1550M in it sounds great! Once I plug my new EBMM in it sounds very muddy and has little to no sustain. I have a Mono cable plugged into the Stereo Magnetic jack. I am actually not interested in the piezo portion at all (I got a rocking deal on this thing.) I am also not to happy with the action the strings are extremely high and the bridge is crooked. I figure the last two I just need to spend some time setting it up but the first problem what could that be? Do I need a Stereo cable?

Do you need a new battery? Check and see if you need a new 9v battery, it is located on the back of the guitar.

You don't need a stereo cable, no. I have no idea about your sound problem though. How old is the guitar?

Already replaced the battery. The guitar is brand new from zzounds.com.

Does pickup height matter?

The battery is only for the piezo, so if you're running the magnets, you should have no issue with that.
Does it work well on other amps? If it doesn't it could be a slight wiring issue.
The pick ups are mounted into the body, so you can't raise or lower them. As long as the neck isn't all wonky on you, making it play like a dream should be no problem.
That's the best I can think up at the moment. Let me know how things work out for you.

It shouldn't sound muddy though, and you should get a fair amount of sustain?
I've had mine all the way to C standard and back, and it was crystal clear.

Mine doesn't sound muddy at all, it's very clear. And the sustain is super. Definitely not "little to no gain".
Try it with another amp, if it's the same there, I suggest you go back to the store and ask for help.

Is this guitar grounded to the body or the bridge? I have what looks to be a screw for body grounding thats not present though a hole exists. Can someone take a pic of the cavity that holds the bridge and springs for me?

If it's new you should really take it up with the dealer who as an EB authorised dealer should sort it out.

The next step would be customer support - I just don't want you to invalidate your warranty.

If I was a betting man I would bet that the "hole" you are seeing is probably the legacy of the "chip" they install in the manufacturing process. For example if you take a look at the video clip on you tube of the "Factory tour" you will see the Buffing robot scan the chip. If you click on the JP 6 in my sig this will take you to threads and a lot of pictures when I totally dis assembled my JP 6. In the meantime I'm frantically looking for the JP6 wiring diagram I have on my computer for you.

The pickups are dead

Basically, I bought the guitar as a blemished model (had a small smudge on the back plate) for $1699 and zzounds.com offered me a great deal to get a brand new replacement. I was going to take it however the salesperson informed me they had a returned EBMM JPXI that is unopened and I can have it for $1899.

Of course I paid the extra $200 bucks! So now I am the proud new owner of an EBMM JPXI!!!! YummMmmmm Ebony fretboard with Stainless Steel frets

Going to make myself sound like a youngin' here, but November 2010 I ordered my first EBMM guitar for my 16th birthday. ahah
Now just a couple weeks back I ordered a Koa JP 7 for either a late 17th, or early 18th birthday present to myself.

My JPXI came in today. Holy Hell this guitar is insane! Ill never own a cheap guitar again. I was surprised how smooth the painted neck is. The fretboard is fast as well. Sounds great too
