Hi All,

Great forum, have been lurking for a while but figured I would register seeing as I finally have a MM on the way to add to the collection.

I managed to find a brand new 2008 LE 5 string (the sequoia/gold one) with a rosewood board at a ridiculously low price. Looking forward to finally owning one although I am sure I will add a 4 string as well if I can find the right older one, have been playing for about 30 years now and have a wide range of gear.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone,

Yes, new, still has the plastic on the guard and all the case candy, the case was labled incorrectly and they found it doing inventory. I started searching around for one after I saw the used 4 string LE for sale on Ebay right now and found the new 5 at a Canadian music store chain...you have got to love Google :)...even better was that I got it for more than 4 figures under the used 4 buy now price of $2500! I will get it early in the New Year as it is in another province, really looking forward to it.

So I was finally able to get the new girl on Thursday and had a chance to really play with it this morning....after a few hours one word really has been resonating in my head....inspiring! Wow, just totally amazed at the killer tone from this bass!

With the p/u switch in the middle, volume cranked, slight roll on of bass, mid at detent and treble about double the roll on of the bass it is so alive...running it through a GB 1200 driving a 810 Ampeg SVTE cab and my Ampeg head driving 2 Hartke 410's the sound is 5 miles wide...absolutely killer.

The most impressive thing so far is the accuracy of the pick-ups and the balanced volume, I play with a lot of attack, don't slap and pop much but am really aggressive with my fingers and usually have to take a long time with a new bass to find the balance and train my right hand....with the LE I was able to just get after it no matter where I was playing without getting dead spots or overly bright spots...

I can't believe after 30 years of playing this is my first EBMM...what a treat....
