I achieved bass Nirvana a few months ago when I completed the perfect EBMM triumvirate, adding a Big Al 4SSS and a Stingray SLO Special to my already amazing 1995 Sterling. I rotate playing time regularly amongst all three and every time I pick up a different bass I say , “Wow, this has got be my #1.” It’s nice having three #1s that get along so well.

But I digress…

To my point…I’d like to dress up my SR4 with a new pickguard. The current tort guard is cool but somehow gets lost in all that blackness. I’m thinking of a white pearloid, or maybe one of the freakishly cool other EBMM guards I’ve seen recently such as python or orange swirl.

Two questions: 1) Any opinions on which guard would look best?, and 2) How can I find out which pickguards are still available from EBMM? It’s not clear from the official web site what’s still produced/in stock.

The SR4 in question is a 2010 model.

Love me my Music Man basses!!!

I don't think the year matters... i'm pretty sure my pickguard was made in 2004.

And actually I think the older models didn't have a notch in the pickguard for the trussrod wheels.

Can anyone at Ernie Ball answer my question about what pickguards are still available to purchase directly from EBMM? Moderators? I don't want to have to buy an aftermarket part. I want to support the company with every purchase I make (e.g., all my basses sport Ernie Ball straplocks and strings).

My Copper Pickguard was purchased directly from Ernie Ball, and the guitar it was originally made for was never even an official production color. I used to get great customer service, from Dan, but haven't seen or heard from him in a long time. I would Suggest calling Customer Service if you are looking for something strange like my copper guard... Or any Dealer. I prefer BassCentral. Tell em Erin Payne sent you.. Or Dubaldo Music. Also ThePerfectBass.com has an online ordering slip that says they have pickguards in stock, though i have never dealt with them personally. Also i have an old SR5 black PG just Laying @doing nothing if anybody wants it... I haven't had a stingray 5 since 2002...
