If that bass is being built for you, you have about 4 months to wait.

This forum is the key to passing the time... ;)

It will be worth the wait, though.

Fretless

I just bought a Stingray 5 fretless........ I love it....

I see you name has the Slap in it. Will you slap on your fretless?

I just bought a 1993 Stingray 5 lined fretless. Fantastic bass! My second Stingray 5 and proud to own it! Fantastic sound (although I'm not a slapper).

Enjoy yours when you get it!

Hmm, yeah if thats what you're planning and have never tried a fretless before you may be disappointed. Still, I slap my fretless cause I think it sounds cool.

You guys have no shame!! ;):( I'm still busting my buns to get a Stingray 5 fretless (with piezos) and it appears I am just about out of options beyond ordering it via my local dealer and paying handsomely for it.

I won't go into my regular rave about Aussies paying through the nose for this great stuff. (which is code for "I just did";))

That said, I am happy for you and insanely jealous all at the same time.

Well done and congrats.

I've wanted a fretless bass for year but I never found a practical use for one in my endevors...now that I'm in a country/slight bluesy/gospelish but still rockin' band and I play in a church band on the side, I might try my hand at a fretless. Probably for more use in country/gospel ballads and the church band. Can I really suck up almost $1500 for a new bass? Time to start selling car parts...

Rockabillys routinely slap fretless.
