Fresh BFR straight out of Connecticut...

Easily this is the best playing and sounding guitar I have ever owned. The ergonomics alone, from the bridge position and feel, to the switch placement, to the buttery action, just perfection. And the tone and sustain... just amazing. Music Man really hit a home run with the BFR Petrucci.

And would you look at the quilt on this one? The pics don't even do it justice. In some light the grain has a bluish tint to it that is just classy and gorgeous.

Oh, and the kid is mine too. His name is Marshall. I was going to name him Rivera but my wife stepped in. :)

Hey. That's a pretty blackburst BFR. Congratulations on the new addition.

And at least you didn't name your son Peavey...

Thanks all. I am really, really loving this guitar. Now I'm in the market for an amp to go with it. The Rivera Quiana is cool, but I want something with a more modern sound. I had an ENGL Powerball which I liked, but I think I want the Invader. Or maybe a Mesa Mark V.

Also I thought I was done guitar shopping, but now I want a 7-string BFR.

If you're into Engl, you might try a Fireball. I know they're only 60W, but the tone is really nice and they're a simple design. Bogner or Framus would be a good way to go also. Really depends on what kinda sound you're going for. I'm in the market for a new amp right now, too. Might have to check out a Mark V.
