Greetings, Ernie Ball Forum!

I just got a shiny new Silhouette, and I have to say, wow! I seriously love everything about this guitar! The body shape and size are natural and it's comfortable to play. Very pretty, too -- the sunburst finish shows the wood grain underneath in a really attractive way. It sounds great, just the perfect level of brightness for a tube amp with a solid-state rectifier and a fast response, which I coincidentally happen to have, and the pickups have a perfect output level. The neck is so fast, and just the right profile for my taste, I've never played one that felt better.

The attention to detail is amazing, too. The neck joint is the perfect shape to allow smooth access to the upper frets. The small headstock is great for not bumping into the mic stand. The locking tuners are a great idea, I haven't had to replace a string yet, but it seems like it can be done in a few seconds, perfect if one breaks during a gig. On the hour-long ride in the cold car coming back from the dealer, the guitar unsurprisingly shifted a bit and had a minor buzz on the upper frets of the low E string. Now, on my other guitars, it's twenty minutes of fiddling to get that sorted out, but three seconds and a tweak of the little wheel, and this one is back in perfect form. Whoever came up with that idea is a genius!

I don't know if the fine folks who build the guitars read the forum, but on the chance that they do, I wanted to post here to tell them how happy I am with the instrument. This is, without a doubt, the finest guitar I have had the privilege of playing, and has contributed to many hours of enjoyment already. So many, actually, that my fingers hurt. Thank you! :D

Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on the Silhouette! I have one too and there's nothing better IMHO.
How about a picture of your new love?
As the saying goes around here. It doesn't exist without pics. ;)

...and yes Sterling Ball himself (Big Poppa) as well as others from the company post here on occasion.
And every now and then, some famous artists too! Steve Lukather's here pretty regularly.

Oh! I forgot to put the picture in, thanks for reminding me (and for the kind welcome :)).

Here she is:

In the unlikely event that this worked, you should be able to click the small image for rebigulation.

Rebigulation. That sounds like something Professor Frink from the Simpsons would say. ;)

Nice Silo, BTW. LOVE that Sunburst color!

Nice Silo. I also love this color combo; I used to have a Silo Special in this combo (but with a rosewood board). Your camera did a much better job then mine of capturing the way vintage burst really looks in person (my old, cheap camera added too much red:().
