I just noticed that the MM case my AL came in last month is almost 2" longer than the cases my SMs came in. I know the "Music Man" emblem by the handle is new but are the new cases slightly longer now? Or is this just exclusive to the ALs.

It's because your Canadian and we need an extra 2" to store our goods! ;)

Maybe its a universal replacement across the range for the introduction of the baritone JP?

i noticed the same thing with my new JP6, aswell as the case is perfectly moulded to the JP body making for a very snug fit. i have to tuck my dimarzio clip lock under the body as it wont fit at the base of the body. ill try and get some pics tonight.

The guitar cases are all slightly larger, and the JP, Sterling, SingRay and Bongo 4&5 all have unique cases with their appropriate logos with the MusicMan symbol at the handle. The Silhouette Bass & Bongo 6 also have their own cases.

The JP case fits both the 6 and 7 string model, and has a form-fit interior.
The other guitars share one style of case.

Those extra 2" of case help protect the instrument even more, I'm digging them!

Yeah, the SMs and ALs seem to fit just as well in either cases. I never thought about the extra protection. Good point. I like the MM symbol by the handle too. I'm not sure if they feel as balanced as the old cases but then again I didn't notice any difference until I actually stood the cases up side by side.

Thanks for the info Pete.
